Kiki Smith is a New York based artist specializing in a broad variety of materials and an ever-evolving body of work that includes sculpture, printmaking, photography, drawing, and textiles. Her work recurrently focuses on the body as a receptacle for knowledge, belief, and storytelling. Smith, a contributing professor at New York University and Columbia University, has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors including recognition in 2006 by TIME Magazine as one of the “TIME 100: The People Who Will Shape Our World” and in 2016 with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center. Smith’s artwork is represented in such prominent collections as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, among numerous other prestigious collections.
