Neal Ambrose-Smith (1966) is a contemporaryTexas-born Native American painter, sculptor, and printmaker as well as a descendant of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Nation of Montana.

Ambrose-Smith learned art skills at a young age through practice drawing what he observed in nature. He earned his BA in 1989 from the University of New Mexico and his MFA in 2009 from the University of Northern Colorado. Ambrose-Smith has worked in many professions including as a goldsmith apprentice, fine art handler, designer, and independent consultant. Since 2015, he has served as a professor at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He also created the app Artist Ideas which provides users with numerous ideas for art projects. Ambrose-Smith has participated in many exhibitions, and his work is held in collections such as the New York Public Library, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, and Hongik University in South Korea.
